Granero, JMK and Igor Campos take the Kings League MENA Split 1 individual awards

A 16-goal tie settled on penalties, 79 saves for 3BS and a goalkeeper with 14 goals who was MVP of the final. That is how the Split 1 awards ended up.

Granero, JMK and Igor Campos: Kings League MENA Split 1 awards

Marc Granero, JMK and Igor Campos are the Kings League MENA Split 1 individual award winners. The Ultra Chmicha forward is the top scorer, the 3BS keeper takes best goalkeeper and Igor Campos is MVP of the final, at the ceremony that closed Friday 30 October at the Kings League Arena in Riyadh after FWZ’s 5-4 win over Ultra Chmicha.

Ultra Chmicha lost the final, but they end the Split with two of the biggest numbers: Granero’s 16 goals and Marc Briones’ 88 saves, the most by any goalkeeper in the competition.

Granero wins the tiebreak over Moussa Sao

Marc Granero and Moussa Sao finish Split 1 on 16 goals each, and the award goes to the Ultra Chmicha forward because he scored fewer penalties. Granero hit a hat-trick in the semi-final against 3BS, scored in the final and has 5 match MVP awards, one fewer than Sao, who tops that ranking with 6.

JMK, the 3BS goalkeeper

JMK takes the best goalkeeper award after 79 saves in 10 games for Absi’s side, who went out in the semi-finals. Only Marc Briones, with 88 in 12 games, finished the Split with more saves.

Igor Campos, MVP of the final with 14 goals in the Split

Igor Campos, the FWZ goalkeeper, made it 2-0 in the 2nd minute of the final and was named MVP of the title decider, his fourth match MVP of Split 1. In the semi-final against Red Zone he had already scored twice in the first three minutes, and he ends the season with 14 goals and 69 saves in 11 games.

Liñares and Briones, the Split’s other numbers

Dani Liñares, also of Ultra Chmicha, finishes as Split 1’s top assist provider with 12 assists, four more than FWZ’s Fouad El Amrani. Moussa Sao tops the match MVP ranking with 6, ahead of Granero (5) and Igor Campos (4).
