FWZ seal the Semi-Final as six teams fight for four places on the final Kings League MENA matchday

A four-win tie between five teams would leave one of them out on mini-league goal difference. Bakhira F.C., on 2-6, have nothing left to play for.

Kings League MENA: qualified teams and Matchday 9 scenarios

FWZ have booked the direct Semi-Final spot in Kings League MENA. DR7 will finish second and Ultra Chmicha are also through. Matchday 9, on Friday 23 October, hands out the four remaining Quarter-Final places among six teams: Red Zone, RA2 FC, Rising Peaks, Turbo, ABO FC and 3BS.

Bakhira F.C. are the only side with no way back: they are mathematically out. For everyone else, the tiebreakers keep the race open, and not even four wins guarantee Red Zone and RA2 FC a place yet.

FWZ are top and DR7 have second place locked in

The 10-8 win over Turbo took Fwaz’s team to 7-1. Only DR7, who beat Rising Peaks 9-8 and sit on 6-2, can draw level. If FWZ lose to Ultra Chmicha and DR7 beat 3BS, a tie on seven wins goes FWZ’s way thanks to their 5-2 head-to-head win on Matchday 1.

DR7 cannot drop to third either: Ultra Chmicha can reach six wins at most and lost 8-4 to DR7 on Matchday 7. The top two places are already settled.

Ultra Chmicha are in and third place is still open

The 5-6 defeat to Red Zone leaves Ultra Chmicha on 5-3. Their Quarter-Final place is guaranteed because only Red Zone and RA2 FC can also reach five wins, so the Moroccan side will finish between third and fifth. First place goes straight to the Semi-Finals and second to seventh play the Quarter-Finals.

The standings after Matchday 8

FWZ (7-1) and DR7 (6-2) lead the Kings League MENA standings ahead of Ultra Chmicha (5-3), Red Zone and RA2 FC (4-4). Rising Peaks, Turbo, ABO FC and 3BS are on 3-5 and Bakhira F.C. prop up the table at 2-6.

Red Zone and RA2 FC: a win puts them through, a defeat makes it complicated

Both arrive on 4-4 and a win sends them to the Quarter-Finals. If they lose, they can still finish eighth: that happens if ABO FC beat RA2 FC, Rising Peaks beat Red Zone, Turbo beat Bakhira F.C. and DR7 beat 3BS.

Those results would leave Red Zone, RA2 FC, Rising Peaks, Turbo and ABO FC level on four wins, with two wins each in the games between them, and goal difference in that mini-league would decide who misses out. That is why the scorelines matter too.

Rising Peaks, Turbo, ABO FC and 3BS need the numbers to add up

All four are on 3-5 and still alive. A win takes them to four, but their place depends on the final combination of results and tiebreakers.

Bakhira F.C. can no longer reach the Quarter-Finals

The 7-8 defeat to ABO FC left Bakhira F.C. on 2-6. Even if they beat Turbo they will finish on three wins, and no combination puts them in the top seven: their results against the teams they could tie with leave them out.

How ties are broken in Kings League MENA

Every win is worth one point, including wins in Shootouts. If two or more teams finish level, the competition regulations apply this tiebreak order:

  • More wins in the games between the tied teams.
  • Better goal difference in those games.
  • More goals scored in those games.
  • Better goal difference across the regular season.
  • More goals scored across the regular season.
  • Better disciplinary record: red cards first, then yellow cards.
  • Any additional criterion set by the Competition Committee.

The five games of the final matchday

On Friday 23 October, the last night of the regular season brings these five games:

  • RA2 FC vs ABO FC
  • Turbo vs Bakhira F.C.
  • DR7 vs 3BS
  • Rising Peaks vs Red Zone
  • Ultra Chmicha vs FWZ

First place already has an owner. The four remaining Quarter-Final tickets do not.
