Kelvin Oliveira scored six goals in Brazil’s thrashing of Turkey (12-4), and Mexico defeated Argentina in penalties, with Kun Agüero present.

Recap of the second day of the KWC Nations quarterfinals

The two semifinals of the Kings World Cup Nations are now set. Brazil and Mexico did their homework and secured their places in the semifinals, where they will face Colombia and Morocco.

Mexico’s hard-fought victory over Argentina

Just like in the USA-Morocco game, the last semifinalist was decided in a Penalty Shootout. The experience of the Mexican players prevailed in the decisive phase of a match that was entirely balanced during the 40 minutes.

As James Rodríguez stepped onto the field to take the presidential penalty in the match between Colombia and Uzbekistan, Kun Agüero suited up to help his team against Mexico.

In fact, the former Argentine footballer scored a stunning long-range goal that was disallowed due to a prior foul, but he later found the back of the net when he converted his Presidential Penalty.

Brazil crushes Turkey

There were no surprises in the other match of the day. Brazil confirmed its status as the favorite to lift the trophy after mercilessly thrashing Turkey (12-4).

The Canarinha broke through Turkey’s defense from the first minute, and as expected, Kelvin Oliveira didn’t miss his appointment with the goal. Even Geçim’s hat-trick was just an anecdote compared to the six goals scored by the Brazilian striker.

With this performance, Kelvin Oliveira became the top scorer of the tournament with 11 goals, just two shy of the 13 he scored in the Kings World Cup Clubs in Mexico.

Everything points to the verde-amarelo reaching the grand final of the Kings World Cup Nations at the Allianz Arena in Turin, but first, they must face the tough test of the Mexicans in the semifinals.
