Will there be a curse? Brazil tempts fate at the Kings World Cup Nations 2025 final press conference

The Brazilian team sparked controversy by lifting the trophy during the pre-final press conference against Colombia in Turin.

Brazil tempts fate before the KWC Nations final

The press conference prior to the Kings World Cup Nations final, set to take place on Saturday, January 11, has sparked debate. In a bold gesture, Brazil’s presidents and stars took the spotlight from Gerard Piqué and touched the trophy ahead of the final.

An act of defiance against one of football’s greatest superstitions. Will there be a curse, or is it a preview of what will happen on January 12 in the KWC Nations 2025 final?

“In Brazil, we touch the trophies”

“Does anyone want to touch the trophy?” That was the challenge thrown by Gerard Piqué, president of the Kings World Cup Nations, to the top representatives of the Colombia and Brazil teams during the pre-final press conference.

While Juan Guarnizo immediately refused to approach the trophy, Gaules, Cris Guedes, and oestagiario, along with Kelvin Oliveira, didn’t hesitate and went straight for it. Not only to touch it but also to lift it and bring it to their side of the table.

All of this happened as Gaules threw shade at the Colombian president, highlighting the cultural differences with Brazil. “In Spain, they don’t touch it, in Colombia neither. How many trophies does your national team have? In Brazil, we touch the trophy.”

A final challenge before the match?

The presidents of both teams have admitted they might get a tattoo if they win the KWC Nations.

However, a new challenge was proposed: if they are so confident in their teams’ chances, they should agree that the winner chooses a tattoo for the losing president.

“No, right?” Juan Guarnizo responded at first, to which Piqué jokingly replied, “Careful, the Kings League enforces it.”

Cris Guedes picked up the challenge and confirmed his intention to get a tattoo if Brazil wins. Additionally, he left all the responsibility to Guarnizo to accept the dare: “It’s up to you. Do you want to or not?”

A possibility that Juan completely rejected. “I’m willing to get something I choose, but I’m not ending up with a giant Neymar on my arm.”
