What happened to Kelvin Oliveira? K9 undergoes hip surgery and will miss the Kings Cup Brazil
33 goals in Split 2, 14 at the KWC Clubs 2026 and a world title with G3X FC. Kings League Brazil’s top scorer now starts a different match: rehab.

Kelvin Oliveira will not play in the Kings Cup. The G3X FC president and player underwent hip arthroscopy on September 28, according to the medical bulletin his club released the following day. The procedure “was a success” and K9 is already recovering, but Kings League Brazil has confirmed he will miss the competition, a decision made with the player’s long-term health in mind.
The blow lands right on the eve of the new season, just ahead of Draft Day on October 3. G3X FC lose their biggest attacking reference: the top scorer of Kings League Brazil’s Split 2 and of the Kings World Cup Clubs 2026, the tournament Gaules and Kelvin’s team went on to win in Milan.
What G3X FC have said
On September 29, G3X FC’s Health and Performance Department explained that Kelvin Oliveira had undergone hip arthroscopy, that the procedure went as planned and that his post-op recovery is on track, with no changes to the plan set before surgery. The club ended its statement with a message for “our athlete and president K9”: it is convinced he will come back even stronger.
Kelvin himself thanked fans for their prayers and messages, saying he is doing well, the surgery went great and it is now time to start rehab and get back to doing what he loves. Kings League Brazil and the global Kings League account also shared messages of support on their official channels.
How long will he be out?
G3X FC have not given a specific date. According to the bulletin, Kelvin now begins an individualised rehabilitation and physical reconditioning programme, with a return to sporting activity expected “in the coming months”. The only official confirmation regarding competition is that he will miss the Kings Cup.
What G3X FC lose: K9 by the numbers
Kelvin is forced to stop right after a European summer full of goals. At the KWC Clubs 2026 he was the tournament’s top scorer with 14 goals, including 3 Double Goals, 2 penalty goals and 1 Shootout goal, and he was key to G3X FC’s run to a title sealed with a 9-5 win over Alpak FC in the Milan final.
His Kings League Brazil numbers are just as emphatic: according to the official Split 2 stats, he finished as top scorer with 33 goals and as the player with the most Match MVP awards, 8, level with Davi Ilario.
So what now for G3X FC?
The calendar won’t wait: Draft Day arrives on October 3 at the Trident Arena, where the 10 Kings League Brazil teams will complete their squads. Every team has released at least 3 drafted players and will pick the same number of new names. Despite some rumours, G3X FC have not yet officially announced how they will cover Kelvin’s absence.
Without their goalscorer, G3X FC head into the Draft with an open question: who takes on the goals that, until now, carried K9’s signature. Kelvin, meanwhile, already has his own match ahead of him: rehab.
